CB Burger Bash

October 2023

CB Burger Bash has kicked off and will run from September 29th to October 29th with over 25 participating locations from around the island. There's plenty of terrific looking options including beef, chicken, vegetarian, seafood, and creative sweet treats.

$2 from every burger sold will be donated to Caleb’s Courage, and Breton Brewing will be donating a portion of sales as the official beer.

Cheers to that!

I'm working on the shortlist of sandwiches I'm hoping to enjoy, and will be posting reviews as I munch forward.

Here's my current wishlist:

The Copperfield

from Flavor Top Shelf

  • Gettin lost in that sauce
  • Crunchy onions and heat very mouth appreciated
  • Seriously just hand me a stack of napkins and look away

The Pipefitter

from The Sandbar Restaurant & Lounge

  • A thoughtful gift to breakfast lovers
  • Gimme fried pickles morning, noon, or night

Captain Clucker’s Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich

from Govenor's Pub & Eatery

  • One express ticket from Nashville to Noshville please
  • Honey guacamole mayo. This is the wayo.

The Luther Burger

from 7by7 Restaurant

  • Heck yeah those are doughnuts
  • I'm here for a good time, not a long time

Cajun Panko Haddock Burger

from The Dory Restaurant and Pub

  • Fresh and flavorful, a seafood toast to warmer coasts
  • Pretzel Buns are top tier in burger architecture

Big patty potential for a great cause, and I'm hungry.

About

Hello! I'm James MacKinnon, a hungry geek of many hats.

Born and braised in Cape Breton, a few years ago I started sharing my favourite tastes from around my community and the Maritimes. Always searching for my next craving, eager to chew the details. Non-stop napkin talk, yeah?

Now, after a much needed pause from social media, I'm working on a new recipe for East Coast Eats. The secret formula is a work-in-progress, but the goal remains to entertain and nourish the local food scene.

Consider me your friendly neighbourhood nosher:

So please grab your appetite and enjoy the site! If you're not hungry... you will be.
